About Jeff Burnside

Welcome. Thanks for wanting to know a little more about me and my work

I'm a veteran journalist and fundraiser. I live in the Seattle area in Washington state, the Pacific Northwest corner of the US. My work has been done throughout the region and in places around the world.

JOURNALISM
My most recent work appears on the cover of the Sunday Pacific Northwest Magazine in the Seattle Times. And my non-fiction book came out in 2022 about an eccentric and inspiring pioneer in "Cashup Davis: The Inspiring Life of a Secret Mentor." I'm a longtime television news investigative reporter whose work has had measurable impact and honored with 10 regional Emmy's and many other national and regional awards.

FUNDRAISING
I have been using my leadership and communication skills to raise more than $15 million for nonprofits, including my proud work for the Sigma Chi Fraternity in support of a new chapter house at Washington State University and for the national Sigma Chi Foundation in support of scholarships, leadership training programs and much more. In a previous nonprofit role as president of the Society of Environmental Journalists, I also assisted executive staff in fundraising and presided over a $1M annual budget.

DOCUMENTARIES
I've produced and executive produced nearly a dozen television specials, and am now producing a documentary about Cashup Davis (above) and "First Contact, Lost Treasure."
